Brewery charity drive gets off to a good start

A Yorkshire coast brewery?s massive charity drive in memory of the son of its cellarman was given a great start this week. Dan Bayes was just 25 when he lost his battle to cancer earlier this year and Wold Top Brewery has launched an appeal to raise money for the charity that helped him and his family throughout his 13 year illness. The brewery team aims to raise ?10,000 for the Candlelighters children?s cancer charity by brewing a limited edition ale and through sponsorship for the brewery team doing the Great North Run (20th September). Warwick University Theatre Group 'No Soup Productions' hit on a winning formula to attract customers to its production, Wondering' at the Edinburgh Festival - they gave away a bottle of?Wolds Way to every member of the audience.? Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery will be one of a number of Yorkshire businesses showcasing the best of Yorkshire?s food and drink at the annual Michaelmas Fair at?Burton Agnes Hall later this month. A Yorkshire Coast brewery?s massive charity drive in memory of a Hunmanby youngster is on track to hit its target by the end of the year. Wold Top Brewery embarked on an ambitious campaign to raise ?10,000 for?Candlelighters after Dan Bayes, son of the Wold Newton brewery?s cellarman Geoff lost his battle to a rare form of aggressive bone cancer, osteosarcoma, in April this year, aged just 25.
