The owners of a popular Kelk pub have thrown down the gauntlet to a Wold Newton Brewery in the interests of charity.
On the 29th October, the Chestnut Horse will hold a pie eating challenge and has invited Wold Top Brewery and local newspapers to take part.
The challenge will be for contestants to eat one of the pub?s legendary 2.2lb steak pies with all the trimmings.? Those who clear their plate will get their meals for free, whilst those who fail will be asked to donate ?5 to Children?s Leukemia.
Landlord Jon Allan explained how the quest came about; ?We?re well known for our range of pies with 27 fillings including the most popular steak pie and thought that it would be a fun way to raise some money for a good cause.?
Wold Top Brewery?s team leader Paul Bellinger said; ?It?s good to be able to support the pubs that we supply, especially when charities benefit.? We?re really looking forward to it.?
The challenge will take place between 12 and 2pm on Friday 29th October and all are welcome to take part or just watch!
For more information about the challenge, or if you would like to take part, please contact Jon on 01262 488263 before 26th October.
