We're celebrating our success in the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards

Both us and our sister company, Spirit of Yorkshire are celebrating after we won the Sustainability/Environment award and the Food and Drink Producer of the Year award respectively at the Yorkshire Post Rural Awards that were presented at an event in Harrogate recently.

We faced tough competition from Woodmeadow Trust to win the Sustainability/Environment Award, whilst Spirit of Yorkshire beat us, Soanes Poultry, Moonshine Ice Cream and Yorvale to take the Food and Drink Producer crown.

Jenni Ashwood, marketing director at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery and sister of our director, Kate Balchin, said: “It was strange competing against our sister company for the Food and Drink Producer award, but fortunately both Kate and I share the view that a bit of sibling rivalry is healthy, and we were both delighted with the results.”

We have also both reached the final of the York Press Business Awards, with us shortlisted for the Family Business Award and Spirit of Yorkshire for the Small Business Award. The winners will be announced on 25th November at an event at York Racecourse.
