Directors' Diary - Brew 4000
Posted by Tracey Baty on
Here's the latest Directors' Diary from the newsletter.
It seems to have flown by but we’ve reached a great milestone in the brewery these last weeks - our 4000th brew!
Each batch of beer we produce is given a batch number (often referred to as a gyle number in the brewing industry) which is used to trace, track and monitor the beer as it passes through the brewhouse and out to trade.
As a celebration, our brewers decided it would be nice to brew a special beer for this momentous occasion and so Mild Stone was born!
As the name implies, it is a Mild, brewed using a combination of dark and light malts and lightly hopped with two British hops, Northdown and Goldings.
This has created a beautifully smooth, light tasting but dark coloured, mild beer to be enjoyed as the nights get lighter and thoughts turn to Spring.
Available as a cask only special, hopefully appearing on a bar near you soon!
Cheers!
Kate and Alex
