An award winning East Yorkshire brewery is celebrating after learning that it has been shortlisted for two prestigious awards. Hot on the heels of securing a final place in the Sainsbury's Great British Beer Hunt, Wold Top Brewery's Scarborough Fair IPA has been shortlisted in the Local Brew category of the Yorkshire Post Taste Awards and will be evaluated at tasting session carried out by several judges on Tuesday 21st August. As the summer music festival scene gets into full swing, organisers of a Scarborough Family Music Festival are anticipating that their fourth festival will be another sell out success. The Staxtonbury Family Music Festival takes place at Manor Farm, Staxton from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th July and will showcase the finest groups including headline acts Grand Urge, Shamrockers, Blue Alibi, Soul Rida, Shamrockers plus local artists including Jessie Hutchinson from Staxton. Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery entered its new beer Scarborough Fair IPA into the national competition that guarantees a listing with the supermarket for the ultimate winners and was delighted to beat stiff competition to become the only Yorkshire beer to make the final shortlist of 20 ales. Award-winning Wold Top Brewery will be one of a number of rural Yorkshire businesses to support the first Open Farm Sunday at a Flixton luxury holiday location later this month. The Hunmanby based microbrewery will be showcasing its award winning beers at the nationwide Open Farm Sunday event at Humble Bee Farm on 17th June.
