The team here are celebrating after winning a silver medal at the 15th annual Free From Food Awards.

Scarborough Fair IPA was one of just two silver medal winners in the Gluten-Free category of the awards that attracted over 500 entries in a range of classes.  Judges described our English style triple hopped IPA as: ‘A lovely, light-coloured IPA that’s well balanced and delivers throughout. It has a gentle, green and piney hop aroma, and a soft, lingering bitterness.”

Our Marmalade Porter was also a finalist in the same category.

Director, Kate Balchin said: “We have extended our range of free from gluten and low alcohol beer over the last few years to reflect the changes in our customers’ drinking habits. A validation from the UK's only industry awards for free from food and drink is great news and testament to the team’s hard work.”

“We were so pleased this year to be able to run the judging sessions without covid restraints and delighted to see such an amazing selection of exciting new free from products. This year, we welcomed a diverse range of lagers, IPAs and golden ales, several dark beers and, reflecting the market as a whole, many low-alcohol beers. So much expertise, time, energy and investment goes into producing free from food and drinks, and there is a special passion-fuelled story behind every one of these products,” said awards CEO, Cressida Langlands.

The Free From Food Awards were launched in 2008 by allergy website, FoodsMatter to encourage innovation and celebrate excellence in the free from food and drink industry. The awards are entirely independent, supported by sponsorship and entry fees only.
