A charity auction of farm machinery and implements helped to raise £38,000 for Yorkshire charities and for Flixton and Folkton villages. Staff at G M Stephenson Ltd of Flixton appealed to local farmers to scour their sheds to see if they had anything to add to the charity auction and asked local businesses and individuals to support the fundraiser by donating goods or services for an auction of promises. Undeterred by one of the wettest Saturdays recorded this year, almost one hundred committed gardening and brewery fans braved the rain and helped to raise over £2,500 for charity.
