Wold Top Brewery's nature inspired beer for Chelsea Flower Show

Yorkshire coast microbrewery Wold Top Brewery is preparing for its sponsorship of a Chelsea Flower Show garden next week (21-25 May) by brewing a nature inspired beer.

'As Nature Intended' ale is named after the show garden that is being created by award winning Yorkshire garden designer, Jamie Dunstan for Stockton Drilling.

'As Nature Intended' (4.8% ABV.) is a barley coloured beer that takes its cues from nature and is a soft, easy drinking beer with a fruity flavour and a hint of spice. It is brewed on the farm using Yorkshire Wolds grown barley, Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops and pure, chalk filtered water. According to the tasting notes, it is "Best served chilled and enjoyed outdoors."

The show garden is a holistic appreciation of how nature influences art, medicine and food production through sculpture and hard and soft landscaping that includes the use of barley, thought to be a first at Chelsea.

In addition to the barley, "As Nature Intended" features natural stone provided by Burlington Stone, yew and willow sculptures by highly acclaimed Yorkshire sculptor Emma Stothard and a sympathetic planting scheme.

The centenary RHS Chelsea Flower Show is from 21-25 May and Gill Mellor will be on hand throughout the show to talk to visitors about the barley and the micro-brewery that is based on the family's farm on the Yorkshire Wolds. The 'As Nature Intended' garden will be located on Main Avenue.
