Yorkshire business shortlisted for national and regional awards

Directors and staff at a Yorkshire coast brewery are celebrating after reaching the finals of two awards. Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has been shortlisted in both the Diversification Innovator of the Year category of the British Farming Awards and the Best Small Business Category in the York Press Business Awards. The awards ceremony for the British Farming Awards takes place at the Chateau Impney Hotel in Droitwich on 23rd October, whilst closer to home, the winners of the York Press awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner at York Racecourse on November 20. We've had a very busy summer in the brewery, on the farm and with Muddy Souls events, but we're enjoying a brief respite before we start working up to Christmas orders. This year, we'll be busier than ever as we have won business with both Morrisons and Tesco to supply beer to their northern stores. Innovative innkeeper launches the ultimate disloyalty card

A forward thinking Holderness publican has launched a Disloyalty Ale Trail aimed at visitors to the East Yorkshire coast. Ray Thompson has owned the Wrygarth Inn at Great Hatfield since 2008 and was inspired to launch the initiative in support of village pubs after a caravanner was re-routed by his Sat-Nav. Ray explained: "More village pubs have closed in the last decade than at any other time in recent history. The Wrygarth is located in a very rural and remote area.
