Make Dad's day with angling ale

An award winning Yorkshire Coast micro brewery has launched a new beer for Father's Day.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has brewed a special ale that they hope will be a hit with the millions of fishermen in the UK - Angler's Reward.

Described by the brewery as 'the ultimate catch', Angler's Reward (4% ABV) is a golden Pale Ale that is brewed with Wold grown malts and hopped with Cascade and Goldings hops to produce a refreshing ale with a fruity bitterness and a lingering aftertaste.

Commenting on the launch, brewery owner Tom Mellor said "According to research conducted by the Environment Agency (1), angling is more popular than ever before with over 20% of the population having been sea or freshwater fishing in the last two years. Angler's Reward is a relaxing summer ale that is perfect for a lazy afternoon on the river and we have packed it in a gift box with Golden Summer to make the perfect Father's Day present."

Launched last summer, Golden Summer (ABV 4.4%) is an amber beer that is brewed from Wold grown malts with the triple hop mix of Styrian, Goldings and Cascade to produce a fruity and light beer with a subtle dry finish. Like Angler's Reward, it's a beer that's best enjoyed on long summer days with friends and family.
