A Wold Newton microbrewery and an East Yorkshire festival organiser are celebrating the sell out success of the second?Moonbeams Wold Top Folk Festival last weekend (9/10 July).
A combination of headline acts, great weather good food and beer and a campsite with stunning views made for an enjoyable weekend that attracted over 500 people.
Visitors to Wold Top Brewery?s home at Hunmanby Grange were entertained by artists including Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds, Edwina Hayes, Steve Tilston, Flossie Malavialle, The Duncan McFarlane Band and many more.? In between sets, entertainment was provided by Captain Kipper, Theatre on the Wolds, Flash Company, Yorkshire Coast Morris dancers and Ron Davies.
Organiser Leila Slater from Driffield was delighted with the event; ?It was a fantastic event - great acts, amazing location, good weather and fabulous food and drink made it a ?very successful festival. I have had dozens of emails complimenting the festival?s friendly atmosphere. We?ve already set a date for next year ? 8th and 9th July and early bird tickets are available at aspecial price just until 26th July!?
Brewery owner Gill Mellor echoed Leila?s sentiments; ?It was a very relaxed, fun-filled family event that attracted people from as far afield as Surrey.? The gusty winds proved challenging to campers on the Sunday morning ? you could say they were blown away by the event and blown home afterwards!?
