Wold Top Brewery is taking its award winning gluten free beer to the Gluten Free Food Fayre in York this weekend.

Organised by the Hull and East Riding branch of Coeliac UK, the fayre takes place on 8th May at the Bar Convent on Blossom Street between 10.30 and 2.30 and will feature a host of stalls and information for people with coeliac disease.? It is expected that over 1500 people from all over the North of England will attend the event in a 17th Century working convent.

Wold Top Brewery?s Against the Grain, is brewed with maize, not wheat and is a full flavoured bitter beer with a good head, refreshing bitterness and a citrus hop after taste. It has an ABV of 4.5% and its gluten content is certified to be well below the Codex standard of 20ppm.

Coeliac disease is an auto-immune disease caused by intolerance to gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley.? It is estimated that 1% of the population has coeliac disease, but only 1in 8 cases are ever diagnosed.? People with coeliac disease have to exclude gluten from their diet and often find it difficult to source gluten free foods that are as tasty as their ?mainstream? counterparts.

Coeliac UK is the leading charity working for people with coeliac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis (DH).? Its mission is to improve the lives of people with coeliac disease through support,?campaigning?and?research.

Against the Grain is also available from the website and costs ?30 for 12 x 500ml bottles including mainland UK delivery.? You can order it and the brewery?s other award winning beer online or by calling the brewery on 01723 892222.
