Wold Top Brewery launches new beer format

A Yorkshire coast micro brewery has launched a new beer format in response to customer demand.

Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has launched Humber Light, its first brewery conditioned beer, specifically for customers like Hull Truck Theatre who have no cellar facilities, but want to serve great tasting beer on draught.

Inspired by Hull's maritime heritage, Humber Light (4.5% ABV) is a premium light, yet full flavoured beer that is brewed using lager malt and has a refreshing citrus character.

Commenting on the rationale for the launch, brewery owner Tom Mellor said; "Keg beer tastes good and lasts much longer than cask beer so is ideal for bars where casks aren't finished quickly. Many breweries are now starting to keg beer and we're really pleased with the quality of Humber Light in this format."

As well as being available to buy at the bar, Humber Light is the beer that audiences of A Play, A Pie and A Pint series of events are offered along with their pie. The next play, Lil, is coincidentally about trawler men and the woman, Lily Bilocca, who campaigned vigourously for their safety. It takes place in Hull Truck Theatre's Studio at 6pm on 27th March.
