We've got more good news to bring you this week as we have been shortlisted in the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards. Not only have we been shortlisted, but Spirit of Yorkshire have too, so it's a double cause for celebration in the Mellor, Balchin, Thompson and Ashwood households!
We have been shortlisted in the Rural Awards category that celebrates the contribution rural businesses make to the local community by creating jobs and innovating, and Spirit of Yorkshire has reached the final of the Young Business of the Year Award that rewards rapidly growing businesses in the Yorkshire region.
Co-founder of both businesses, Tom Mellor said: “Both businesses have shown great resilience during the last six months and it’s a real boost to be shortlisted in these prestigious awards.”
Our businesses were two of 180 businesses entering the awards whose winners will be announced at a digitally streamed ceremony on 4th November. We face competition from Econ Engineering Ltd, York Handmade Brick Company and I’Anson Brothers, whilst Spirit of Yorkshire is joined by Plant-U Energy and Yorkshire Lamb Orphanage in the final.
Of the awards, Greg Wright, deputy business editor of the organiser, Yorkshire Post said: “The wonderful, dynamic enterprising companies that have earned a place on the shortlist prove that our region is the best in the UK to do business.”
Wish us luck!
