We're highly delighted to announce that our Scarborough Fair IPA has been recognised as one of the best in the world after winning a bronze medal in the International Beer Challenge (IBC).

It is the first time that we have entered the prestigious international competition and our 6% ABV. Scarborough Fair IPA impressed the judges in blind taste tests with its intense hop flavour.

Alex Balchin, Brewery Manager said: “Gaining recognition from the International Beer Challenge for the quality of our beer is a real compliment and an amazing achievement.

“We’re delighted that Scarborough Fair IPA was awarded this medal, especially as there are so many new and exciting products coming out of the craft beer world.”

Scarborough Fair IPA is brewed with a blend of triple hops, maize, home grown malt and water from the farm’s borehole, is also a 2 Star Gold award winner in the The Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards.

The International Beer Challenge is celebrating its 20th year of acknowledging the skill of the brewer and has grown to become an internationally recognised symbol of quality.

Industry leading experts on the judging panel included beer writers Jeff Evans, Melissa Cole, Tim Hampson and Pete Brown alongside beer buyers, brewers, broadcasters, retailers, importers, publicans and flavour analysts.

Judges chairman Jeff Evans said: “We certainly don’t throw medals around in this competition – more than a third of the beers submitted this year picked up no medal – so a beer recognised by the IBC is well worth celebrating.”
