East Yorkshire Brewery on target to raise ?10,000 for Candlelighters

A Yorkshire Coast brewery?s massive charity drive in memory of a Hunmanby youngster is on track to hit its target by the end of the year.

Wold Top Brewery embarked on an ambitious campaign to raise ?10,000 for?Candlelighters after Dan Bayes, son of the Wold Newton brewery?s cellarman Geoff lost his battle to a rare form of aggressive bone cancer, osteosarcoma, in April this year, aged just 25.

Brewery staff, suppliers, friends, family and customers have already helped to raise over ?6,000 through sales of the limited edition ale, Candlelight and by sponsoring a Wold Top team that included Dan?s mum, Barbara Bayes, for the Great North Run.? Thanks to the generosity of the brewery?s suppliers who donated goods free of charge, all of the proceeds (minus tax and duty) will benefit the Leeds based charity that helps children with cancer.

Candlelight (4.3% ABV) is an easy drinking straw coloured beer made with Maris Otter malt & Willamette hops that give the beer a crisp bitterness with a hint of citrus aroma.? An ideal Christmas present, Candlelight is available in special gift packs and in cases of 12 direct from the brewery,?online and at farmers markets and local events whilst stocks last.? For more information contact the brewery by calling 01723 892222 or check out the?Candlelight pageon the brewery?s website.
