An award winning micro brewery is embracing the social media revolution with the launch of a new interactive website.
East Yorkshire based Wold Top Brewery has created a new look website that incorporates a blog for all its latest news and links to its twitter feed and popular networking site facebook.
The move to embrace new technology was prompted when Kate Mellor, 24 joined the family brewing business when she left university last year.
Conversant with all forms of social media and recognising the commercial opportunites that direct communications with the brewery's substantial fan base could open up, Kate set up a twitter account and facebook group and is overwhelmed with the response that the campaign has received;
"We have got nearly 500 followers on twitter and over 300 facebook fans. It's a great way to add a personal touch to our business and an efficient way for people to communicate with us and tell us what they like and what they don't!"
Gill Mellor added; "There are a lot of people (me included!) who don't 'get' twitter, but I have seen the impact that regular snapshots of life at the brewery is having on the business, so I'm really pleased that Kate has taken it on. The new website reflects the brewery's evolution since we launched in 2003 and we're looking forward to using it to grow our internet sales."
