We've reached the final of the Great British Food Awards

We're very pleased to share the news that Scarborough Fair IPA has been named as a finalist in the Best Craft Beer category in the Great British Food Awards that celebrate the country’s home-grown ingredients and producers.

Scarborough Fair is one of just two Yorkshire beers to have made the shortlist of the awards that are organised by Great British Food magazine.

Our brewery manager, Alex Balchin said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that one of our beers has been shortlisted in the national awards.

“We’re very proud that Scarborough Fair IPA has reached the final of this prestigious award. It’s a great tasting beer that is also gluten free, so suitable for people with gluten intolerance or sensitivity.”

Brewed using home-grown barley and water from our farm’s borehole, Scarborough Fair IPA, 6% ABV, also won a bronze medal at the International Beer Challenge 2016 and was named by The Independent as one of the best gluten-free beers earlier this year.

Organised by Great British Food Magazine, the awards were launched in 2014 and feature a host of celebrity judges including John Torode, Rachel Allen, Val Warner, and Nathan Outlaw. The Best Craft Beer category will be judged by journalist and beer sommelier Sophie Atherton.

Natasha Lovell-Smith, editor of Great British Food magazine, said, “We're all about boosting small local producers, who may be well known in their regions but have yet to get the national recognition we think they deserve.”

“The quality of entries last year was just spectacular, and I can't wait to see what our judges discover this time.”

The winners will be revealed in the Great British Food magazine October issue, due for release on September 7.
