We're proud to be shortlisted in the Scarborough Business Awards with Spirit of Yorkshire

Posted by Wold Top Brewery on

We're very excited to announce that we have been shortlisted alongside our sister company, Spirit of Yorkshire, in the 2018 Scarborough Business Awards.

We have reached the final of the Medium Business of the Year award whilst our younger sister has reached the final of the Tourism Business of the Year.

Tom Mellor, who founded the brewery in 2003 with his wife, Gill and Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in 2016 with his business partner, David Thompson, is thrilled that both businesses have been shortlisted: “Not only is the Yorkshire coast a fantastic place to live, but it is also home to many successful businesses, so it’s a real honour to be shortlisted.”

We face stiff competition from Ellerby Country Inn, Castle Employment and Dennis Distribution, whilst Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery is up against The Stables at Cross Butts, Ellerby Hotel and Wrea Head Country Cottages in the Tourism Business category.

The awards, organised by The Scarborough News and its sister titles, the Bridlington Free Press and Whitby Gazette and sponsored by McCain, celebrate the businesses that fly the flag for the Yorkshire coast.

We're looking forward to the 1960’s themed black-tie event at Scarborough Spa on Friday November 30, when the winners will be announced. Wish us luck!
