We were announced as the winner of the new Rural Business of the Year award for 2017 during a 007-themed ceremony at The Scarborough Spa on Friday, November 24.
Our Brewery Manager Alex Balchin and his wife, Kate (pictured above), were at the ceremony to accept the award.
“We’re really pleased to win the first ever Rural Award at the Scarborough Business Awards – it’s a great way to finish the year and is testament to the hard work of our great team.” said Kate.
The Rural Award, sponsored by Scarborough business,Stuart’s Foods, aims to highlight the individuals and businesses who help to deliver prosperity through their enterprise. Judges included Chris Sanders, the aviation development director at Leeds Bradford Airport; Bill Walker, director of strategic relationships at the University of Hull and Ed Asquith, editor of The Scarborough News.
More than 400 people celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals from the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale areas at the fourth annual awards ceremony.
