We're proud to be marking our partnership with the North and East Yorkshire Poppy Appeal by producing a limited edition cask beer for the second year running.
Our light beer, Remember, 4.2% ABV, will be available at selected pubs in North and East Yorkshire from late October until the 13th November, including the two week period known as Remembrancetide.
For each cask of beer sold, we will donate £10 to the Poppy Appeal and we hope that this figure will be supplemented by collecting tins in the pubs that are serving Remember.
The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s biggest fundraising campaign and is held annually in November. During this month, events are organised throughout the UK to remember the fallen servicemen and women killed in conflict.
Money raised from the appeal supports the work that the Royal British Legion does to help the Armed Forces community.
Paul Collingridge, Corporate Fundraiser for North and East Yorkshire, said: “We’d like to thank Wold Top Brewery for supporting and raising awareness of the Poppy Appeal once again.
“We hope to build on last year’s fantastic total of £700 and raise a record amount so that we can continue to support all generations of the Armed Forces and their families.”
Remembrance Sunday falls on 12 November and during this year’s Poppy Appeal, the Royal British Legion will mark the 100th anniversary of the battle of Passchendaele that took place between July and November 1917 and saw 550,000 Allied and German troops killed, wounded or lost.
