We're delighted to have won a prestigious farming award

We're thrilled to announce that we have won a national farm business award.

Tom and Gill Mellor were presented with the Family Business award at the Farm Business Food and Farming Industry Awards at the House of Commons on Friday.

On receiving the award, Gill said: “As a farm based business brewing beer from our own crops, it’s very rewarding to win a farming award.

Winning the family business category award is particularly fitting given that we have recently welcomed the fifth generation with the birth of twin girls.”

Caroline Whibley, organiser of 13th Food and Farming Industry Awards, said: “Wold Top Brewery is a business that has engaged the family ethos and grown into a successful business which demonstrates the scope for a small arable farm to diversify.”

The award was presented by Gyles Brandreth who was accompanied by Toastmaster and Agronomist Sean Sparling.
