Following the success of the inaugural Scarborough book festival last year, Books by the Beach co-directors Heather French and Peter Guttridge are delighted to be working in partnership and raising a glass with Wold Top Brewery once again in 2015.
“Last year Wold Top brewed us a special ‘Best Seller’ beer and it was the favourite tipple of many festival goers” says Heather. “This year we’ve decided to go one step further and ask the public to come up with a name for this year’s extra special brew. Books and beer are a perfect combination!” So what’s it all about?
Wold Top owner Gill Mellor and Heather have decided to let avid readers and beer drinkers create a new name for a literary light ale...
“My example is ‘Ale of Two Cities’ but I know book lovers will come up with something much more original” Heather quips. “So get those creative juices flowing”.
The competition is open to 18 year olds and over and will be judged by Gill and Heather. The winner will be rewarded with a special presentation pack of their own named beer and their creation will be the special brew served during the festival and branded on Books by the Beach bottles given to visiting authors. A perfect souvenir!
In addition the lucky winner will also receive two complimentary tickets to see Omid Djalili at the Spa Theatre, Scarborough on Friday 17th April.
Please e mail your suggestion together with your name and contact number to firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like the opportunity to enter this competition.
The closing date is Friday 6th March.
The winning entry will be announced on the Wold Top Brewery website before the end of March.
