Three in a row for green brewery

Staff at a Yorkshire coast microbrewery are celebrating after winning their third major environmental award in their 10^th anniversary year.

Wold Top Brewery beat stiff competition from St. Stephen's shopping centre to be awarded 'Best Green Business' in the Hull Daily Mail business awards on 21^st November.

The award was received by Alex and Kate Balchin during a glittering ceremony at the Willerby Manor Hotel that was attended by over 300 guests representing businesses from Hull and East Yorkshire.

A delighted Kate Balchin, Accounts and Export Manager at the Wold Newton based brewery, said; "We're very proud that our green initiatives have helped us to win another award, especially as it's our tenth birthday this year."

The Hull Daily Mail business awards, now in their 13th year, aim to recognise those individuals and organisations that have helped drive the local economy, creating jobs and wealth and putting the area on the map for all the right reasons.

Wold Top Brewery's winning year began in March when it won Best Green Business at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) Business Awards. It continued with the Red Ribbon national award for Innovation from Family Business Place in July and in October it was awarded both Best Green Business and Best Overall Business at Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards.
