Wold Top Gift Packs
Treat Dad to a taste of Hockney country this Father’s Day
Yorkshire Wolds microbrewery Wold Top Brewery is encouraging people to ‘drink in’ Hockney country and give Wold Top Brewery beers as a Father’s Day present.
Brewed only a few miles from the famous artist’s home in Bridlington, Wold Top Brewery’s award winning beers reflect the big skies and the rolling landscapes that have inspired much of Hockney’s recent work in East Yorkshire.
It is the Wolds grown barley and pure, chalk filtered water from the brewery’s own borehole that give the microbrewery’s range of beers an individual flavour that is unique to the Yorkshire Wolds and is enjoyed by all.
The range comprises traditional bitters, blonde beers, pale ales and gluten free beers that are available to buy in gift packs or cases of eight from the website www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk and at selected outlets nationwide. Please contact the brewery on 01723 892222 for stockist information.
Hockney demand secures second order for Wolds brewery

A Yorkshire Wolds micro brewery is delighted that the appeal of the Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy in London has resulted in a second order from the prestigious catering company Peyton & Byrne.
Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery has been supplying its Wold Top Bitter, Wold Gold, Wolds Way and gluten free beer Wold Top Against the Grain to the Restaurant at the Royal Academy on Piccadilly since the Hockney exhibition began in January as a result of a ‘Meet the Chefs’ day at Beverley Tickton Grange last September.
Commenting on the latest order, brewery owner Tom Mellor said; “We are delighted that the public not only shares our enthusiasm about Hockney’s work and the Yorkshire Wolds, but they appear to like our Wolds beer too!”
Established in 2003, farm based Wold Top Brewery brews traditional real ale from home and Wolds grown malting barley, the finest hops and pure, chalk-filtered Wolds water. In addition to the Restaurant at the Royal Academy in Burlington House, its range of award winning ales is available through the website www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk, independent, family owned retailers, farm shops, delis, hotels, pubs and off licences throughout Yorkshire and further afield.
Peyton & Byrne operate a number of quality food outlets. They are passionate about quality British ingredients and source all their meat, fish, dairy and vegetables directly from artisan producers. They make everything in their own kitchens from scratch using only fresh, sustainable, environmentally friendly ingredients.

SIBA seal of approval for Wold Top Brewery beers
Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery gained silver for gluten free beer Wold Top Against the Grain in the bottled speciality beers category and bronze for Shepherd’s Watch in the bottled bitter (over 5% ABV) category of the SIBA (Society of Independent Breweries) North Region Beer Competition in Manchester last week.
Wold Top Against the Grain (4.5% ABV) is enjoyed by coeliacs and non coeliacs alike and is a multi award winning full flavoured bitter beer with a creamy head, refreshing bitterness and a citrus hop after taste.

Shepherd’s Watch (6% ABV) is one of two winter beers produced by the Yorkshire coast microbrewery and is a rich, dark ale with a spicy and fruity edge that is perfect with Yorkshire Parkin, Mince Pies and Christmas Cake. It is the first award for the beer that was launched in 2010.
Brewery owner Tom Mellor was delighted to win the award and said; “It’s a great accolade to have the SIBA seal of approval on these beers.”
The competition marked the start of the annual three day festival that is run in association with Greater Manchester CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale).
Both beers are available from farm shops, farmers markets and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire. Shepherd’s Watch will also be on promotion in Booths family owned supermarkets during November and December and features in the Brewery’s winter gift pack with 5 Wold Rings.
Angler’s Reward reaps its own reward!
Angler’s Reward has just won the drinks section in the Yorkshire Post Taste Awards. We were really pleased as this beer has had nothing but praise since it first was brewed in the spring. We are now looking at making it a permanent beer in cask and also in bottle. It’s 4% abv just seems to fit exactly into our pub customers profiles and it’s taste to their customers wishes. We certainly seem to have come accross alot of fishermen who are enjoying the taste and the reviews in the fishing press have been great. The fishing press has added to the reading material in the Brewery. Angler’s Reward is also available in our stunning new gift pack with Golden Summer, the only Yorkshire beer to reach the final of Sainsbury’s Great British Beer Hunt!
